We build high-performance homes in North Dakota.
Endure Buildings is a licensed North Dakota general contractor. We build homes for this climate, to a standard most new construction here skips, and built to still look right on the street fifty years out. Performance and craft, in the same house. That combination is rare enough in North Dakota to be most of the reason the company exists.
What that means in practice: classic American houses, the Foursquare and the farmhouse, built new with assemblies and windows the originals never had. The shop-house built as an actual building instead of a metal pole barn with an apartment in the corner. Small commercial on a real street. We draw it for your lot, or build it from the Endure typology, a set of building types Endure Consulting designed to fit a conforming North Dakota lot without becoming a generic catalog plan.
How we build
The performance side is just building done correctly for thirty below. We run continuous insulation outside the framing so the studs aren't thermal bridges. Double-stud walls where the R-value has to be high enough to matter, not just clear inspection. The air barrier gets detailed and blower-door tested. Triple-pane windows. All-electric, because a cold-climate heat pump pencils out here now. None of it chases a certificate. It's so the house is quiet, warm in the corners, cheap to heat, and dry inside the walls decades out.
The craft side is the part most builders default on: proportion drawn on purpose, trim with enough depth to throw a shadow, a porch carried by something that looks like it could carry one, materials that read as what they are. The detailed thinking behind it lives in the building-science field notes, written for North Dakota and climate zone six and seven.
Where the design comes from
Endure Buildings is the build end of a bigger system. The design comes from Endure Studio when it's drawn for you, or from Endure Consulting when it's the typology, and the building science and the read on your specific lot come from Consulting too. We put the result in the ground. Most work starts on the design and diagnosis side and becomes a build when it's ready to be one.
Endure Buildings is also the preferred builder for Northstead at Colfax, where these building types are the standard for the subdivision.
Start a build
If you're earlier than a build, working through plans, wanting eyes on an assembly, or starting a design, that begins with Endure Consulting and Endure Studio. If you've got a project in North Dakota that's ready for a builder who works this way, that's us.
